She's always been a reluctant reader but has really blossomed lately. Looking for a book or series for her to get into. She just finished the 1st Book of Stories and we both the rest of the series. Looking for something similar.

Serafina and the black cloak. It’s a trilogy and the other 2 books are out already. My daughter loved it. She loves being read to but not so much reading on her own. After I read her the first book, she immediately started reading it on her own.
She just started Harry Potter. She was super reluctant but is finally starting to understand the joy of reading with it.
My favorite book as a kid was Matilda by Roald Dahl. I think 10, especially if she's a relatively recent reader, would be appropriate for that one. I want to say I first read it a bit younger, but re-read it several times!
Actually I loved all the Roald Dahl books, but I'd start with that one!
The Story Thieves and the Inkworld trilogy (Cornelia Funke also does Dragon World- another fun series) were some of DD's favorites about the same time she was reading the LOS series. She also loved A Series of Unfortunate Events and Mr. Lemoncello's Library series around then.
Snow & Rose, The Vanderbeekers of 141st/Hidden Garden, almost anything from Kate DiCamillo, The One and Only Ivan and Wishtree by Katherine Applegate, The Jumbies series (so far there are only 2) have all been stand out favorites.
stinkyfeet, does she like dragons? C is really into Wings Of Fire series. She also really liked Beverly Cleary and is now reading some Judy Blume (I bought a box set at Costco for Christmas).

Wings of Fire Sisters Grimm Roald Dahl books Harry Potter
N was also really into Goddess Girl series for about a year, which is definitely not award winning literature, but is still reading. It's a whole series with the premise of Greek Gods and Goddesses in high school. It's kind of stupid disney channel sit-com type writing, but it still got her reading, and she knows ALL sorts of stuff about Greek mythology. She kills it when that Jeopardy category comes on, lol.

My 8 and 12 year olds (boys, but this is still my recommendation) are both obsessed with Rick Riordan. The younger is working his way through Percy Jackson and the older is reading the Trials of Apollo series.
I teach sixth graders. A lot of my students, both reluctant and fluent readers, are big into graphic novels: Amulet series, Sisters, Smile, Drama, Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels, Roller Girl, All’s Faire in Middle School. They also like Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, Wonder, and books by Jerry Spinelli: Loser, Wringer, and Crash are popular right now.
Books not already mentioned (at least before I started typing): El Deafo The Narnia series Despereaux Because of Winn-Dixie Amulet series Wonder Number the Stars Meg Cabot has a middle school princess series

They have the first 8 books in a box set at Costco. C loves them. THey also have one graphic novel which she loves. She does not love me singing a theme song to the books to the tune of Hearts on Fire, Rocky IV. lol

You can also get a good deal on them through scholastic, if her teacher does Scholastic Book Orders. There are 11 books currently released.
